Meet Dr. Leah Sheppard a researcher at Washington State University who’s recent work found that attractive businesswomen are thought by supervisors, colleagues, and employees alike to be less trustworthy and more expendable. This phenomenon has been deemed the “Femme Fatale Effect” — a term usually reserved for a seductive, yet manipulative, woman (Think Angelina Jolie in Mr. & Mrs. Smith.) Put another way, women cannot catch a break.  In this episode, we’ll discuss why this gender stereotype and bias exist and what you can do about it. And, to add insult to injury, Dr. Leah will explain why the workplace treats conflict among women differently and how you can address that imbalance as well.
